How can I have a normal sex life with someone with HPV?

I'm dating someone who told me has HPV genital warts. I decided I'm not going to stop seeing him just because he has an STD. Anyway, I know that if i decide to be intimate with him I am risking my chances of getting the virus. What can I do to protect myself from getting this virus and still be able to have a normal sex life? I know i can get the HPV vaccine that prevents 90% of genital warts. I'm just afraid because I know condoms can not protect me from the virus. I need advice from someone who's been through or is going thru the same thing....oh and please dont tell me just to not have sex. thats just not realistic for me:-)
